The Firefox team just launched a website that allows users to rank the Interop 2027 proposals that they care about. And I care about things - for selfish reasons and for work. And that's a challenge. I want to rank things that only benefit me and my blog but I also want to rank things that would make my daily job easier. Or, at least, allow me to delete a lot of code. So I settled with a balance of five for each.
My final ranking:
- CSS
random()function - CSS
corner-shapeproperty - CSS gap decorations
- CSS
border-shapeproperty - CSS
object-view-boxproperty - CSS
flex-wrap: balance - CSS
reading-flowandreading-orderproperties - Customizable/stylable
<select> - 103 Early Hints preloading
- CSS grid lanes (masonry)
Now, if I had a rank of things I want just for pure fun, it would look something like this:
- CSS
random()function - CSS
corner-shapeproperty - CSS gap decorations
- CSS
border-shapeproperty - CSS
object-view-boxproperty - CSS
sibling-count()andsibling-index()functions - CSS
filter(image, ...filters) - CSS
random-item()function - CSS
var()in size container queries - CSS
box-decoration-breakwithout a vendor prefix
And here's what would make my life easier at work and what are our most frequent requests from clients:
- CSS
flex-wrap: balance - Customizable/stylable
<select> - 103 Early Hints preloading
- CSS grid lanes (masonry)
- CSS
reading-flowandreading-orderproperties - CSS
var()in size container queries - CSS linked parameters
- CSS
@supports at-rule() - Responsive iframes
- CSS

Since posting this, other developers have done the same and I've been enjoying reading their takes! Also, Firefox has since added a "share" feature on the ranking website which should allow you to quickly create your own blog post too. If you do, let me know and I will add you to the list!
